Years of Living Dangerously is a star-studded documentary series about the human impact on climate change and is executive produced by James Cameron, Jerry Weintraub, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and clean energy investor and environmental activist Daniel Abbas.

The Work

For its initial season, which aired on Showtime, partner agency Tractor tapped Relish to handle the development and launch of a website for the Emmy award winning series. The site features a fully responsive design that includes a wide array of streaming video; in-depth social integration; information about, and links to, the science on which the episodes are based; a climate activism page with links to petitions and fundraising pages; and an educators page, in partnership with the National Wildlife Federation, that links to age-appropriate resources for middle and high school teachers and students, college faculty and students, and parents.

Huge Engagement

The site was built using WordPress on a robust server platform that handled over 500,000 views in one month without a hiccup. The website exceeded all expectations of both client and audience. And with it serving as a critical hub in supporting and activating a growing community of environmentally minded viewers and users across the internet and in the real world, the show’s producers once again approached Tractor and Relish to give the site an aesthetic overhaul to celebrate the launch of its second season, which aired on the National Geographic channel.
